Baby's First Road Trip

We had the chance to take a family vacation to Utah and Vegas in August. We all had a great time and the weather wasn't even that bad as Mike had feared.


We stopped for the night in St. George on the way up to Salt Lake City, Trevor enjoyed swimming with his cousins at the hotel pool.




Then we made our way to SLC, I was amazed at what a good traveler he was on such a long drive. We saw Temple Square and went to my great-uncle Vic's surprise 85th birthday party, which was fun to see some relatives. We enjoyed swimming, or rather, floating in the Great Salt Lake.





On the way back home we stayed a couple nights in Las Vegas and had some more relaxation time by the pool and stopping by our friends Roni and Michael's house where Trevor got to visit his friend, Jonah.

A Fair Day

We got a chance to have an evening at the Orange County Fair this summer. We enjoyed riding the ferris wheel, seeing all the plants and animals, and Mike even entered a pie eating contest. He was proud of himself for coming in "second" place (along with the seven others who didn't win).

The Big 3-0

I (Tara) turned thirty in July. Despite the dismay of having to leave my youthful 20s, I had a very nice birthday. Trevor and I got into Disney's California Adventures for free. We only spent a couple of hours there since that's all he (and I) could tolerate but we definately got our money's worth ;P. Trevor got to go on three rides, including the merry-go-round, and he had a total blast. That evening Mike took me to dinner at the Orange County Mining Company for a tasty halibut dinner with a view.

Good times were had by all at the celebration of Trevor's cousin Brock's first birthday.

Boy Meets Beach

Trevor had his first real visit to the beach this week. The sun was hot, the water was cold and daddy didn't want him to stay more than 10 minutes fearing he would get a sunburn despite his hat, glasses and 70+ SPF lotion. \"/ He loved his short adventure!

A Festive Fourth

Trevor enjoyed his first Independence Day by starting off with a trip to the Orange County Market Place. He then shared a picnic lunch in the park with Grammy & Papa Hafen, and had a BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa Parks' for dinner where he had a good time playing with cousin Brock. It was a such a fun filled day that he made it to bed shortly past 8:00, which was a record for him!

Blessed Day

Big Trevor was finally blessed on Sunday, June 7th. His daddy gave him a beautiful blessing despite a little mix up with his name. :)

Happy B-day Mike!!

Mike turned another year older this month. He celebrated with his favorite Papa John's pizza and cake at the Parks' and a tennis match and hot dogs with the Hafen's. We also went to half price "happy hour" at Dukes's and he got a killer slice of mud pie for free. He has already informed me we will be returning in July for my birthday. ;P

Trevor's trick

While he actually did turn over a few times at two months, he only recently start doing it regularly and on purpose.

Softball '09

Mike had a good time playing church softball this past Saturday. Unfortunately, I missed getting his "in-the-park" home run on camera.

Bumbo boy

Trevor loves feeling like a big boy when he sits up with the help of his handy Bumbo seat. He used it to sit in while he tried eating rice cereal for the first time this week.
